Gavalas winery was formed in 2004 and it represents one of the largest organic viticulture on the island of Crete. It is located 37km south of the town of Heraklion. The winery buildings covers an area of 980m2 in a privately-owned estate of 7.000 m2 with its vineyards extended in 6.9 acres of land from which the 2.2 acres are new plantings scheduled to be put at an early date in the production line. Gavalas Domaine exclusively produces and bottles wine from their own production by using organic farming techniques.

Gavalas Winery philosophy is to produce high quality products in an environmentally responsible way. To manage that, they have initiated quality control tests throughout the production line in order to ensure high quality and customer satisfaction.
